History

"History" refers to written records of major events in the past and the "cause and effect" relationships that explain the "flow" of those events over time.  All "written history" is "selective," for nobody could write a "complete" history of "absolutely EVERYTHING" that has ever happened (see: John 20:30; 21:25).  However, "good history" will accurately explain elements of the past in a way that makes sense of what happened, how it led to other things that came later, & then to the realities we see in the present.
